Who lives in your backyard?

Do you see a bee buzzing by?

A bee's house is called a hive.

The hive is where bees make honey.

Dragonflies swoosh back and forth over the flowers. 

A dragonfly's four wings allow it to turn quickly in the air.

A spider is spinning a sticky web.

Can you count eight legs?

Spiders make silk to spin their webs!

watch out a grasshopper takes a giant leap where is it going?

a grasshopper has very strong back legs, which let it jump far!

and what's that sound？

chirp chirp chirp!

it's a cricket.

A cricket chirps by rubbing its wings together.

Oh and look over there it's a lightning bug.

You might call it a firefly these special little bugs.

Are bioluminescent that means they can glow in the dark.

a bright red ladybug munches on a leaf.

look down at your feet tiny ants march in a straight line.

ants are small but very strong! they can carry items that are much heavier than they are.

And up from the dirt ,the garden worms wiggle.

Can you wiggle like a worm?

Very tiny hairs cover a worm's body and help it move and burrow in the dirt.

two weeks after being born a caterpillar curls into a hard case,where it grows wings.

walking along a branch is a busy little caterpillar.

that will soon turn into a beautiful butterfly!

butterflies eat nectar and pollen from flowers.
