The first lesson Ms. Chen, our English teacher, wrote a sentence on the board and said, "Please write this down." We began writing. I wrote the first word but hesitated. "I don't think that's correct. But is it okay to point out the mistake? Is it polite on the first day?" I wondered to myself. "Why aren't you writing, Wang Han?" Ms. Chen asked. I looked up at her. Our eyes met, and I felt nervous. But then I thought about the sentence's meaning. I raised my hand. "Ms. Chen, there's an error," I spoke up. "That quote is from Confucius, not Mencius." "Well done, Wang Han," Ms. Chen praised with a smile. "Actually, this is an important lesson for all of you as you begin high school. Learning will become more challenging. It's crucial to think deeply about your studies. Please always remember this." That was truly an important lesson!
