The Slave and the Lion

One day,Androcles found a cave.
He went into the cave.
The cave was a lion's den.
Just then,the lion came back.
The lion was on Androcles's way out.
Androcles could not run away.
Androcles was scared.

To his astonishment,the lion did not eat him.
Instead,the lion fawned upon him.
The lion lifted his paw to Androcles.
The paw was swollen.
Androcles examined his paw.
He saw a large thorn in his paw.
He pulled the thorn out.
He bound up the lion's paw.
Soon the wound healed.
The lion was very grateful to Androcles.
He took Androcles as his friend.
They lived in the cave together.

One day, Androcles returned to the town.
He stayed in the town for some days.
Soon someone recognised him.
He was caught.
He was sent to his master.
He was in chains.
He was in a cage.
As punishment,Androcles would be thown into the arena.
He would have to fight a hungry beast.
A lot of people would watch the fight as entertainment.

The day came.
Androcles was thrown into the arena first.
He was waiting for the beast.
People cheered.
They were waiting to watch the fight.
They enjoyed watching the fight between a man and a beast.
They enjoyed watching a beast eating a man alive.

Then a lion came out of the cage.
The lion rushed into the arena.
The lion was starving.
He saw Androcles.
He ran to him.
He did not pounce on Androcles.
Instead,he sat down at his feet.
He fawned upon Androcles.
He was Androcles's old friend of the cave!
The spectators were amazed.
Androcles told them their story.

The spectators were amazed at the lion's gratitude.
They were amazed at the lion's loyalty.
They were amazed at their friendship.
The spectators shouted
"Free them! free them!"
"Give them freedom!"
They shouted and shouted
"Freedom,freedom!"
"Freedom,freedom!"
.....

The governor agreed with the spectators.
He ordered to free Androcles and the lion.
Androcles and the lion were free.
They went back into the mountains together.
