Letters to God
A postal employee was working in the post office.
He saw a letter and he read it.
The letter came from Jim.
Jim was a 6 year-old boy.
His letter was addressed to God.
He asked God for $500.
He told God that his father was already dead.
He told God that his mother was having a hard time.
She had to raise Jim and his younger sister.
The postal employee was very sad.
So he showed the letter to his fellow workers.
They decided to contribute some money.
They raised $300.
They sent the money to the family.
Two weeks later they received a letter from Jim again.
The letter was addressed to God, too.
He thanked God for the money.
But he wanted God to send money directly to him next time.
He did not want to get the money through the post office.
He said that the post office would deduct $200. |
