A

1、I was born in 1632 in the city of York in the north of England.  

2、My father was German, but he came to live in the city of Hull in England ,where he did well in his business and got rich.  

3、Then he moved to York and there he married my mother, whose family name was Robinson.  

4、Her family was well-known in that area and, so, when I was born, they gave me Robinson as my name.

1、I had two elder brothers.  

2、The eldest died in a war and I don't know where the second one is.  

3、My father wanted me to get a good education and sent me to a good school.  

4、He hoped that I would become a lawyer and live a quiet, comfortable life.  

5、But I did not like that,I wanted to go to sea to have an adventure.

1、My parents were very worried about my idea and my father tried everything to stop me.  

2、He said, 'Don't be childish.  

3、Sailors' lives are difficult and dangerous.  

4、Only poor people or people who want to make quick money go to sea.'  

5、My old father cried and begged me.  

6、'Please don't go, my son.  

7、Your eldest brother did not listen to me and went to the army.  

8、He lost his life.  

9、I don't want you to die on the sea'

1、I loved my father very much.  

2、I promised that I would not go to sea.  

3、But only a few days later, I forgot all about my promise.  

4、I asked my parents again and again to allow me to go to sea, but they never agreed.

1、About a year later, I went to the coastal city of Hull.  

2、At first,I did not have the idea of going to sea without getting my parents' permission.  

3、There, I met a friend whose father had a ship.  

4、He said that they would sail for London and he encouraged me to go with them.  

5、'You don't have to pay! Why don't you go?' he said to me.  

6、That is just the way sailors persuade people to go to sea for the first time.  

7、And so, on September 1st, 1651, I got on board the ship for London without telling my parents.

1、Soon there was a strong wind.  

2、The waves were as high as hills.  

3、The ship went up on the top of a wave and then went down to the bottom.  

4、It seemed that it would go bottom-up or be broken into pieces any moment.  

5、I felt very ill and very afraid.  

6、I remembered all my father had said to me.  

7、I determined to give up the idea of being a sailor and never go to sea again.

1、The next day the wind dropped and the sea was no longer rough and dangerous.  

2、I did not feel sick any more.  

3、Late in the afternoon, the wind stopped completely.  

4、The sea was very quiet and very beautiful in the setting sun.  

5、I slept very well that night.  

6、The next morning I saw a more beautiful sea in the rising sun.

1、The friend who had encouraged me to go to sea was afraid that I would give up.  

2、He came over to see me.  

3、'Well Bob,' he clapped my shoulder and said.  

4、'How do you do after the little wind?'  

5、'What!' I cried. 'It was a terrible storm.'  

6、'You call that a storm? Oh, that was nothing at all,' he laughed.  

7、'Let's have a drink and forget it.'  

8、But several days later,we really met a terrible storm, which lasted for several days.  

9、Finally the ship sank in the sea and we got to the coast in a small boat.

2、 我也不再晕船,

3、傍晚的时候，风完全停了。

4、 大海在落日的照耀下格外的平静和美丽。

5、 那天夜里，我睡得很香。

6、 第二天早晨，在朝阳中，我看到了 一个更加美丽的大海。

1、 怂恿我航海的那个朋友担心我会放弃。

2、 他走过来看我。

3、 “喂！鲍勃。”他拍拍我的肩膀对我说，

4、 “小风刮过,感觉怎样？”

5、 “什么？ ”我叫道，“这可是可怕的风暴！”

6、 “你把那叫做风暴？噢,那根本算不了什么，”他大笑。

7、 “咱们来喝一杯，忘了它吧！”

8、 但是，几天之后，我们真的遇到了可怕的风暴,风暴一连持续 了几天。

9、 最后，船沉入大海，我们乘小船到了岸上。
