一、普通的民工 1、Zhang Qingshan was a farmer working in a construction site in the city. 2、He wants to earn money to pay for his two children's education and the medical treatment of his parents.
二、买彩票的经过 3、One day, after receiving his paycheck, he went down town to buy medicine for his mother at the drug store. 4、As he was coming out of the drug store, he met a workmate buying a ticket at a lottery-stand beside the drug-store. 5、His workmate urged Qingshan to try his luck and buy a lottery ticket. 6、Since in his hand he still had some change left from buying his mother's medicine, he spent two Yuan to buy a ticket. 7、When he got back to his work shed, he put the lottery ticket inside one of his packages and forgot all about it.
三、得而复失显人格 8、Three months later, while eating lunch, a workmate said that he had spent 1000 Yuan to buy lottery tickets but had never gotten any prize.
9、Then he mentioned that someone had won the 1 million prize reward but he had not redeemed it. 10、When he heard this, Qinshan suddenly remembered his lottery ticket.
11、He found it out and went to the stand with his workmates. 12、There he was told that his ticket had won the jackpot, but since he had failed to surrender it before the deadline, he could no longer get the money. 13、Everybody felt sorry for Qingshan, but he said, "It does not matter. I would not know how to spend 1 million Yuan anyway." |
