1.Dear head teacher, teachers, parents and fellow students, I’m very proud that you have chosen me to speak to you today.

2.I have three roses here:a red one, a yellow one

and a white one.

3.These roses are to thank three groups of people for the three most important things that I have learnt.

4.These three things are friendship, effort and trust.

5.I give the red rose to my friends.

6.When I started school here, my Chinese was not good, and some of my mistakes were very funny.

7.I once tried to say “xiexie”, but I said “xiaxia” instead.

8.Of course some people laughed, and I felt quite silly.

9.But they were not laughing at me.

10.They taught me to say many things in Chinese

and kindly invited me to join them.

11.Today, thanks to their kindness, my Chinese is much better, and we have become friends.

12.So, let me say “xiexie” again to all of you for your help.

13.I give the white rose to my teachers, who have taught me that there is no success without effort.

14.When I started running in the 800 metres, I always finished last and I just wanted to give up.

15.But the PE teacher, Ms Huang, helped me.

16.She ran along with me, and she said, “You only really lose if you give up!”

17.I still can’t run fast enough, but I’ve learnt to try my best, not only with running but with

whatever else I do.

18.I give the yellow rose to my parents for

teaching me that love is about trust.

19.When I wanted to learn the violin, my father told me that I should work harder at maths.

20.I was disappointed.

21.Then, on the morning of my birthday, I woke up to find a beautiful violin at my bedside.

22.There was a note from my father:“I’m sure you will be good at music.I know that you will be better at maths.”

23.I’m sure that you all have your own memories about the happiness of the last three years, and the people whom you want to thank for it,

24.So let’s all stand up and say,“Thank you, friends, teachers and parents! We love you!”

17.现在我仍然跑得不够快，但我学会了要尽力争取，不仅仅在跑步的时候，而是做任何其他事都是如此。

18.我把黄玫瑰献给爸爸妈妈，感谢他们让我懂得爱就是一种信任。

19.当年我想学小提琴时，爸爸告诫我，让我好好学数学。

21.后来，在过生日的那天早上，我醒来发现床边放着一把美丽的小提琴。

22.爸爸给我留了一张便条：“我相信你的音乐会学得不错。我也知道你的数学会有进步。”
