"Of course not. it is not bad for two little mice to play together," said Grandma.
she tried to make a friendly atmosphere, though she used to not like Mr. Jackins. "How is Mrs. Jackins?" "Thank you, she is fine. She stayed at home with her pet cat Topsy. She does not want to come here." "I can understand," said Grandma," Poor mother." "If you don't mind, I would like to invite you to dinner, respectful madam." Mr. Jackins was encouraged by Grandma's being friendly and he invited her to dinner. "Thank you for your invitation. It is my pleasure." Grandma accepted his invitation. Mr. Jackins was very glad that Grandma accepted his invitation. He suggested Bruno and I stay to play in their room, he would send some food to us. Grandma was easy-going and accepted his suggestion. So we went to room 553 first. I was very glad to see Bruno.
"Hello Bruno, Nice to see you again." I said. Bruno was watching TV and eating snacks" I am watching TV." he said. Mr. Jackins said to us, "You play together in the room. I will soon send food here." Then he left for the dinning hall with Grandma. Bruno continued to watch TV for a while, then he asked me,
"Does your grandma have a way of turning you back into a boy?" As Grandma had told me, I did not mention that matter. "If she had, I would become a boy now." I said. "Will she find a way?" he went on asking. "I think so." I did not give him a clear answer. Bruno did not seem eager to become a boy again, He did not ask any more questions about the matter. After a while, Mr. Jackins sent a box of satisfying food for us and Bruno began to eat at once. I found that Bruno was fatter. I told him about my neighbor's cat and dog and he told me about Topsy. We were very happy. I wanted to tell him about my learning Kungfu, but I did not. I hoped that Bruno could eat some Dezhou millet, do some exercises, lose weight, be healthier.
I decided to do that after telling Grandma first. Mr. Jackins and Grandma came back after dinner,
looking rather pleased.
Grandma went back to room 554. As Mr. Jackins came in, Bruno asked him loudly, "Did you ask her about how to turn me back into a boy?" Every one could hear him, which made his father rather embarrassed. Mr.Jackins did not answer Bruno's question. He said to me, "Do you want to stay here for another while?" "No, thank you." Seeing that both the doors were open, I jumped off the sofa and went to the door. I looked around outside the door and there was nobody in sight, I said goodbye to Bruno and went back to our room. Grandma and Mr. Jackins said goodnight to each other and closed the doors. |
