Chapter Ten
the Mouse Queen(1)
The Grand High Witch and her witches were enjoying the delicious meal. Looking around, she found that the same things were happening to every witch. She understood that every witch had had the mouse maker she had dosed. She also understood that the mouse maker was in the soup which had been eaten by every witch. Now, every witch was becoming a mouse, so people began to scream and beat them.
The Grand High Witch noticed a side door which was open, her several favorite witches protected her out of the dinning hall through it. Everyone was making noises, some were scared to scream, the children were clapping their hands happily, few people were really beating the mice, for they did not have proper weapons or tools.
The biggest threat came from the chefs, who were holding knives or cooking spoons to beat the mice.
These mice were not ordinary mice, it was not easy to beat them. Those who were afraid of mice kept running out of the doors, so the doors were not closed at all，
and all the witch mice escaped though the three different doors. Though some mice were hit and wounded, the most wounded lost half a tail, all of them got out and hid in safe place.
Guarded by her favorite witches, the Grand High Witch escaped to a garden, then they went though a drainage pipe out of the garden, across a road, to a house in which nobody lived.
The Grand High Witch and her favorite witches, including an assistant and her secretary ,and other witches, counted up to 16. When they felt that they were safe, the witches all asked The Grand High Witch,
"Your Majesty, what on earth happened?" "Your Majesty, we wanted to turn the children into mice, how come we became mice?" "Can we become human again?" "I don't want to be a mouse！" "What shall we do?" Some of them began to sob. |
