Grandma's Odd Socks

I love my grandma. 

she is always happy and she smiles all the time. 

She wears bright clothes and has red hair.

but there's one thing about grandma that I just don't understand she always wears odd Socks！

when I ask her about the socks ，she doesn't answer .

“look at that flying Flamingo!”

“ I bought cake!”

“ let's go bowling!”

“quick our show is about to start!”

Yesterday, Grandpa picked me up from school.

all my friends laughed at her socks.

I felt my cheeks go hot and red.

why does grandma wear Odd Socks every day?

I had to stop it.

I matched all her socks together and hid the ones that

didn't have a pair.

 I put matching socks inside all her shoes.

 I even took the laundry away so she couldn't get the dirty ones out instead.

but the next morning was a disaster.

 Grandma had completely ignored all my matching socks.

 why hadn't my plan worked?

 I thought and thought until I found the answer.

 it must be the elves.

Dad says that when one of his socks disappears, it's the elves who've stolen it.

 I took one matching pair of Grandma's socks and hid them under my pillow.

that way, no elf would dare take them!

I gave them to Grandma the next day and she agreed to wear

them.

but it was even more awful. she did wear the socks I gave her, but not how I wanted her to.

when we got home, I was angry.

or sad.or both. I couldn't stop wondering why my grandma wore Odd Socks every day.

Could it be that she's not wearing her glasses when she puts her socks on? or do the elves trick her at the last moment?

Grandma sat me down .she seemed upset now,too.

 she sat next to me and hugged me tight.

“I want to see you smile again. I promise tomorrow I'll wear matching

Socks！” finally！

the next day,Grandma picked me up from

school wearing normal,proper ,matching socks. it was the moment I had been waiting for..... this is what I wanted.

but then, why did I still not feel right? 

Grandma didn't feel right, either it wasn't fun and it wasn't happy. I

liked my old grandma better .

and then suddenly, everything became came clear.

“ I think I know why you wear Odd Socks every day,” I said .

you are giving everyone....... a great big laugh.

“that's exactly right, darling,” said Grandma.

“ there's always someone who needs cheering up, and my funny socks make that happen.”

 I I love my grandma .she is always happy and she smiles all the time. 

She wears bright clothes and has red hair .

and she always wears Odd Socks !
