An Unusual Spring Festival

It was my first Spring Festival in the UK, and I wanted to celebrate it by treating my British friend, Emilia, to a Chinese dinner. Emilia is a kind and thoughtful girl who sometimes cooks for me, so I wanted to return the favor.

However, there was a big challenge: I had never cooked anything myself before! I often watched my Grandma cook, but I never tried it on my own. As it was midnight in China, it was time for dumplings there. Desperate for help, I called my family. With their guidance over the phone, I managed to become a chef in just one hour! I even managed to make some cucumber flowers.

While Emilia decorated the dining room with balloons and lanterns, I finished preparing the last dish and placed it on the table. "This is the lion's head!" I announced proudly.

Emilia looked shocked. "Are you joking? Isn't that against the law?" she asked, bewildered.

I laughed and explained, "It's a pork meatball. My family always has it during the Spring Festival. Its round shape represents family reunions. Try it!"

Emilia cut a piece with her knife and put it in her mouth. "I love it!" she exclaimed. The delicious aroma of the dishes and our laughter filled the room, making me feel as though I was back home.

一个不平常的春节

这是我在英国的第一个春节，我想请我的英国朋友艾米莉亚吃一顿中餐来庆祝。艾米莉亚是个善良体贴的女孩，有时还会为我做饭，所以我想回报她。

然而，有一个大挑战：我之前从来没有自己做过饭！我经常看奶奶做饭，但从来没有自己尝试过。那时中国正是午夜，是吃饺子的时间。由于急需帮助，我打电话给家人。在他们的电话指导下，我在一个小时内变成了厨师！我甚至还做了一些黄瓜花。

艾米莉亚在餐厅挂上气球和灯笼时，我完成了最后一道菜，并将其放在桌子上。我自豪地宣布：“这是狮子头！”

艾米莉亚看起来很震惊。“你在开玩笑吗？那不是违法的吗？”她困惑地问道。

我笑着解释说：“这是猪肉丸子。我们家在春节期间总是吃它。它的圆形象征着家庭团圆。尝尝吧！”

艾米莉亚用刀切了一块，放进嘴里。“我喜欢！”她惊呼道。菜肴的美味香气和我们的笑声充满了房间，让我感觉仿佛回到了家。
