Honesty
Once there was a farmer who sold a pound of butter to a baker every day. One day, the baker decided to weigh the butter to check if he was getting the proper amount. When he weighed the butter, he found out that he was not getting the proper amount. Upset about this, he brought the farmer to court. The judge asked the farmer whether he was using any method to weigh the butter. The farmer replied, "Your honor, I'm quite primitive. I don't have a proper method, but I do have a scale." The judge asked, "So how do you weigh the butter?" The farmer replied, "Your honor, I have been buying a pound loaf of bread from the baker for a long time, before he even started buying butter from me. Every day, when the baker brings the bread, I put it on the scale and give him an equal weight in butter. If anyone is at fault, it is the baker." Moral of the story: In life, you get back what you give. Be honest and fair. Don't try to cheat others, because it will only cause you problems in the end. |
