King Bruce Robert Bruce was the king of Scotland.
He was wise and brave.
The English army invaded Scotland.
Robert and his people took up arms.
They fought the English.
They fought the English six times.
They failed six times.
Robert ran into the moutains.
He hid in the moutains. One day ,it was raining.
Robert was in a hut.
He lay on the ground.
He listened to the rain on the roof.
Robert was very tired and sad.
Robert was ready to give up.
The English was too powerful. Then Robert saw a spider over his head.
The spider was spinning a web.
Robert watched the spider.
The spider worked hard.
She tried to reach the opposite wall.
She tried to fix his thread to the opposite wall.
She tried six times.
She failed six times.
Robert cried for the spider.
He sighed
"Poor spider,you,too,know what it is to fail."
But the spider did not give up.
She tried the seventh time.
Robert stared at the spider.
This time the spider made it.
She fixed his thread to the opposite wall. The spider encouraged Robert.
Robert stood up.
He said to himself.
"I ,too, will try the seventh time."
Robert called his men together.
Soon he got an army.
Robert made a good plan.
The Scotsmen prepared very well.
They fought the English the seventh time.
This time,the Scotsmen won.
They drove the English out of Scotland. |
