LESSON TEN Mary had a little lamb A 1.Mary lived in a small village of Greece. 2.Her husband gave her a little lamb. 3.The lamb was white as snow. 4.Mary loved the lamb very much. 5.She tied the lamb to a tree during the day. 6.The tree was in a field. 7.In the evening,she went to fetch the lamb. 8.One evening,however, she could not find the lamb. 9.The lamb was missing. 10.The rope had been cut. 11.Someone had stolen the lamb. B 1.Her husband came home. 2.Mary told her husband what had happened. 3.Her husband was angry. 4.He wanted to find the thief. 5.The village was small. 6.It was easy to find the thief. 7.He told his friends about the theft. 8.His friends helped him to find the thief. 9.Soon he got a clue. 10.His neighbour had suddenly got a new lamb. 11.He went to his neighbor's home. 12.He yelled to his neighbour. 13.He accused his neighbour. 14.He asked his neighbour to return his wife's lamb. C 1.His neighbour took him to his backyard. 2.There was a lamb in the backyard. 3.The lamb was black. 4.Mary's husband was ashamed. 5.He said sorry to his neighbour. 6.His neighbour said OK to him. 7.Then it began to rain. 8.Mary's husband had to stay. 9.They had a chat in the house. D 1.Half an hour later,the rain stopped. 2.Mary's husband went outside. 3.He was astonished. 4.The little black lamb was almost white! 5.His neighbour had dyed the lamb. 6.The rain had washed the lamb clean! 7.The neighbour had to admit his theft. 8.He said sorry to Mary's husband. 9.Mary's husband said OK to him. 10.He took back Mary's little lamb. |
